Opening Hours

Mon - Sun: 7AM - 9PM

Sometimes it happens that during the physical practice of Yoga, even if you show up with the full awareness that you are doing it for yourself and not for competition, you may find yourself wanting to show something to others or to the teacher, so feeding your ego.

You are working to find your center, being present is the key. You shouldn’t have to try and twist yourself into those advanced asanas just to show that you can. Everything will come with time and dedication.

“Not the commitment of a day or a year, but the determination of a lifetime” Carlo Terracciano

Every practice is different and every time we get on the mat it’s like a new beginning. That’s why we should always consider ourselves beginners. Emotions, as well as ability, are different. And that’s right, imagine if you always had the same feelings.

Yoga, from the physical point of view, that of asanas, is only a very small part of the discipline. The purpose of physical practice is to strengthen the body and the mind, to be then able to sit “comfortably” in meditation for long periods. I speak for those who also have an interest in spiritual growth, but obviously not everyone has the intention to do so for this aim.

Today’s society tends to make us feel sick, disconnected from the real world, blocked, looking for anything that can keep us floating. So it happens that we often label ourselves as #yogi#vegan#healers#rebels just to be part of something that we think is out of the ordinary. But it’s not like that. Those who find themselves in these and believe themselves #diverse, I think they just need to elevate their ego. We don’t need a hastag or a therapist (which is so fashionable nowadays!), on the contrary we have to believe in ourselves and in our own strength, to face every day at the most.

In Yoga there are postures made specifically to find one’s own center and breath and, above all, to lower one’s ego.

Paschimottanasana – Seated Forward Bend
Eka Pada Rajakapotasana – Sleeping Pigeon
Baddha Virabhadrasana – Humble Warrior

Humble Warrior, my favorite, requires stability and flexibility of the whole body: hips, legs, shoulders and back. This position does not only work on the parts of the body mentioned above, but opens the chest, stimulates the abdominal organs and the nervous system. It also reminds us to look humbly inward and to enhance all moments.

Even the words “humble” and “warrior” may seem like a contradiction, but only through the humility we can really know ourselves, thus making the most of every experience, without losing sight of our goal.

Like a humble warrior you must find the strength to recognize the won and lost battles.
